Trinity's Values

Vision: Sharing God's gifts, we joyfully serve!

Mission: We will nurture and grow our faith family, centered on Word and sacrament, by exemplifying the love of Christ as we respond to the needs of one another and our world.

Trinity's History

This Sunday - TrinityFest VI
You are cordially invited to celebrate Trinity this Sunday, September 25.  The Unity Service will begin at 9AM and will be followed by music, games, food, and fellowship.  (There will be no Sunday School this week.)

Invite a friend!

A Message from Pastor Dennis Walker
Pastor Walker is Trinity's contact pastor during our transition.

George Burns was one of the most beloved Vaudeville Era stand-up comedians. He worked his way through live stage shows to what we now call "Superstar Status." He lived for 100 years (the most difficult period for most of us) and died only in 1996. So beloved was George Burns, that Hollywood cast him as God Almighty in more than one block-buster movie.

We have one outstanding God's Work Our Hands event on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th from 2pm-7pm at Trinity.  Here's how you can help:

  • Sign-up to help man the Registration Desk for an hour or more (we need 2 people during each time slot)
  • Sign-up to help man the Canteen for an hour or more (we need 2 people during each time slot)

Generosity (Stewardship) Noodling - It's time to start Planning for Next year.

To do that, the Generosity (Stewardship) Committee with your assistance will be:
  • Reflecting on the generosity of you, our supporters
  • Highlighting activities and people within the congregation
  • Asking for your continued generosity of your time, talents, and treasures

Between now and Nov 20th we will

  • Hear about selected mission activities you support
  • Make information available to help you make up your mind about the support you want to provide
  • Answer questions about possibilities for 2017
Please mark Nov 20th on your calendar. We ask that on this Commitment Sunday you estimate your financial support for Trinity's mission in 2017 in addition to your gifts of time and talent.

Based on your response the Church Council and supporting committees will be planning TLC mission efforts for 2017

Christian Education News
Welcome back to Sunday School!  There will be no classes this week due to TrinityFest but there will be lots of games for our kids to play and lots of food to eat!  Classes will begin again on October 2nd from 9:45-10:45 a.m..
If you have a child in the 4th-6th grade, you should be receiving a letter explaining our First Communion instruction this fall.  For any child in these grade levels who has not made their First Communion yet, classes will be held on Sunday morning, during the Sunday School hour.  If your child would like to review or have some more in depth discussions about the meaning of Communion, they are welcome to come to these classes.  We encourage all kids in this age group to participate.
Our committee has been discussing opportunities for adult education.  If you have an idea for a topic to be discussed in a large group or small group format please look for the suggestion box in October to share your idea with the committee.

Do you attend TLC's coffee hour?
We are actively seeking TLC members to fill in the blanks for coffee hour bakers, healthy alternative snacks people, and hosts for the months of October, November and December.

It has been a very lean summer although people have pitched in to make it work! Please call me at 978-866-6259 or e-mail me ASAP.  Gene and I will be out of town the first 2 weeks in October so I am trying to get this schedule ready. This is my cell number so please let us know if you are able to help out. This will be coffee hour just after the 11 a.m. service as Chris and Bill Pude do a great job taking care of the early service.

Thank you!

St. Paul's Soup Kitchen
The St. Paul's Soup Kitchen ministry serves between 85 and 100+ guests each month. The feedback has been so wonderful about the meals we've been providing. We could use any and all help that folks have to give. No worries, if you can't serve at the soup kitchen as we welcome any and all food or monetary donations that suits your schedule each month.

If you haven't yet had the chance to sign up for our next serving on Tuesday, October 4th, here is the grid of items that are still needed.  Feel free to drop off your items at Trinity before Tuesday if that's more convenient. Label your items for St. Paul's and you can leave them in the refrigerator or freezer in the  kitchen. It's as easy as that!
Thanks for all your help for this wonderful ministry!

Please drop off donations to Trinity between Sunday and 3PM on Tuesday of the week we will be serving.  If donations are being delivered directly to the soup kitchen, please bring to Eliot Presbyterian Church by 4PM the day of the meal.
We - and all the people who are homeless or needing to stretch their budget - thank you!!!

TWNO Book Club - November
After our discussion of  Mister Owita's Guide to Gardening, last evening, expertly hosted by Pauline Ray, we chose a book for our next meeting.  We will be reading A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman in preparation for our discussion on Monday, November 7th at 7 pm in the CC Room.  For information on the book, check out Goodreads. Our host will be Lo Thatcher. She will lead our discussion, provide snacks, and bring 3 book suggestions for our next book club read.
Happy Reading!

TLC Transition
During our transitional phase Trinity has several layers of support available.

We have an ELCA appointed contact pastor - Dennis Walker - who can assist as needed. Pastor Walker lives in Amherst, MA and can be here at Trinity if needed for pastoral support.

Beth and the Worship and Music committee have arranged for supply pastors to support our weekly worship through the summer.  Some of the pastors on that list are also available for urgent care.

A call to the Church Office 978-256-6300 or an email to our Parish Administrator, Beth Confrancisco, is always a good start.
Of course our congregational executive committee is also available to respond to questions/inquiries.
