Trinity's History

Pastor Melissa Buono
This week we again welcome Pastor Melissa Buono to Trinity's pulpit.

A Message from Pastor Dennis Walker
Pastor Walker is Trinity's contact pastor during our transition.

In Luke 12:49 and following, Jesus gives a sobering briefing to his disciples. He has come to set the earth on fire. He comes not to bring peace, but divisions running right through families. Fathers and sons will oppose each other over Jesus, as will mothers and daughters and the in-laws, too. Now families have had feuds over important issues from the dawn of time---of course! Jesus' point is that he is a very important person that everyone else will have to decide for or against. Like any good military general, Jesus lets recruits know what they are getting into. All power has been granted to Jesus by the Father...but, as every TV commercial pitchman says, "Wait...there's more!"
God means to act and you will be a part of his grace. When God does what he's going to do for the world, we will not be watching from the sidelines on a warm bench. One of the best summaries of this relationship of Disciple to Teacher that I've ever seen is from Martin Luther King, Jr. "The belief that God will do everything for man is as untenable as the belief that man can do everything for himself. It, too, is based on a lack of faith. We must learn that to expect God to do everything while we do nothing is not faith, but superstition." Go team, go!

Grace & Peace,
Pastor Dennis Walker

Sunday, September 11, 2016
Our event is planned for Sunday, September 11th after the 9am Worship Service.  Contact Kate Conran or  Helen Blaschke if you would like to assist with either of these events
Habitat for Humanity Build - 3 Dalton Street, Lowell, MA
11:30am-3:30pm.  We can use a group of 6 Adults (18+) for this project.
Habitat for Humanity ReSTORE Workers - Tyngsborough.  11:30-3:30pm.  3-4 workers aged 15+ - must include one Adult/Driver.
For our GRATITUDE Baskets - we'll plan to meet at Trinity on Saturday, Sept 10th at 10am to bake some apple pies. We'll be filling the baskets with ingredients for a supper for the fire stations and "necessities" bags for our police officers.
For our BACKPACK Attack - we're looking for the SUPPLIES to fill the 20 backpacks that were already generously donated.
TEE Shirts will be coming in the next couple of weeks.  Many of us have tee shirts from prior year events.  If you have a Tee Shirt at home that you've outgrown or don't need - we can SWAP for the right size.

Ready for your close-up?
In preparation to welcome our next pastor, whoever and whenever that may be, we are starting to ramp up ways to help him/her feel more welcome and integrate well into our congregation. One of those ways is to have a pictorial directory. Our website can display photos of families and individuals with all their contact information, so we hope to have photos of all our congregational members entered into the directory. If you already have a family and/or individual photo in the directory, there is nothing for you to do, but if not, we're asking that you take a few minutes to upload photos of yourself, your family, and each family member. Even each child should have their own photo. This way, our next pastor will be able to put names and faces together very quickly.
If you are unable to upload a photo, please email photos to me, Pauline Ray or give me a paper copy which I can scan and enter into the directory.  You can place your photo in the Property mail drawer next to the copy machine, and Jim will make sure I get them.
Remember, our directory is only available to congregation members, no one outside our church has access to our directory.

TLC Transition
During our transitional phase - Trinity has several layers of support available.

We have an ELCA appointed contact pastor - Dennis Walker who can assist as needed.  Pastor Walker is available for pastoral support as needed.  Pastor Walker lives in Amherst, MA and can be here at Trinity as needed for support.

Beth and the Worship and Music committee have arranged for supply pastors to support our weekly worship through the summer.  Some of the pastors on that list are also available for urgent care if needed.

A call to the Church Office 978-256-6300 or an email to our Parish Administrator, Beth Confrancisco is always a good start.

Of course, our congregational executive committee is also available to respond to questions/inquiries.
